Coaching programs: who are they right for?

If you’ve been in business for a bit (especially as a course creator or coach), you have probably felt the pull towards a coaching program or a mastermind (if you aren’t already a part of one).

These smaller, curated programs (like my coaching program for course creators) can mean everything to an ambitious business owner who is looking to uplevel…

… But how do you know if you’re ready for a coaching program?

And how do you go about finding one that makes the most sense for you?

In today’s post, I’m sharing my perspective and a thought process that you can use to determine if a coaching program or mastermind should (or shouldn’t) be your next step. Enjoy!

how to know if you're ready for a coaching program

Like you, I’ve learned new skills in online courses.

I’ve picked up tips and tricks through many a Google search.

I’ve gotten some great strategies from YouTube videos.

(Speaking of, you can “watch” this post if you’re not wanting to read it right now — below.)

And I have picked up some fabulous insights from free Facebook groups.

BUT nothing — and I mean NOTHING — beats the power of a mastermind or curated coaching programs.

There’s nothing quite like working alongside other business owners who are on the same level of ambition as you, all while being led by a coach or mentor who’s had serious success or accomplished what you want to accomplish.

And when I think about the turning points in my business, they didn’t happen while I was watching a course; they happened when I was collaborating with people.

When I think about the big, scary, seemingly impossible goals I’ve set (and met), they didn’t happen while I was crowdsourcing other peoples’ opinions online; they happened while working with other people on my level who held me accountable, every step of the way.

And when I think about the major milestones I’ve had in my business, they didn’t happen when I was flying solo; they happened when I had serious support from other business owners (not just friends and family).

Friends and family are great and flying solo can be fine for a while, but when you want to uplevel beyond what you think is possible, it’s a heck of a lot easier (and faster and more fun and all the happy adjectives) when you have other people in your corner.

It’s why – no matter how much my business grows – I’ve always been in  curated coaching programs or mastermind (or both!). It’s why I always *will* be in one, too.

In fact, the only year when I *wasn’t* in some kind of curated coaching program or mastermind was the one year when my business plateaued. I approached that year and told myself: I don’t need this. I’m good now. I can fly solo for a while.

And it’s not like I suddenly got dumber. 😉 It’s not like my products stopped being excellent or my audience stopped valuing what I had to offer. Business wasn’t even bad. But it wasn’t anything special either. And it wasn’t anything like what we had seen before and what we see now.

And of course, the second I joined a coaching program again, it was like a switch flipped – as it always does – and everything changed. Because when you have other people in your business, supporting you, you have other PERSPECTIVES in your business, you have accountability, you have access to people who *aren’t* in the echo chamber that is your brain. Right?

It seems simple when I say it like that, yet so many people underestimate the value of what curated coaching programs or masterminds can bring their business.

What Coaching Programs can Provide for Your Business

Hint: It’s way more than the investment you’ll make.

And it’s way more than anyone could possibly articulate on a sales page.

It’s why when anyone asks me about MY curated coaching program, Launchpad, I always do my best to describe what it can do for them, but ultimately, I am at a loss.

Sure, I’ve strung together some pretty words and phrases to describe the in-person summits, the various features and benefits of Launchpad over on the sales page, I’ve tried to emphasize how important it is to connect with human beings, and I’ve waxed poetic about the value of the coaching calls and small, private community, but I’m just scratching the surface.

It’s so much more than a bunch of courses, trainings, coaching calls, and a community.

It’s – quite possibly – the difference in you making a dream a reality… rather than wistfully hoping “one day.” In Launchpad, we’re not about “one day”; we’re about NOW. We’re about taking action, and doing it together. And we are about getting you to the 6-, 7-, or even 8- figure success you see for your online course.

But… How do you know if this is right for you? Or, wrong for you?

Here’s the deal.

Launchpad is ideal for two types of people:

Established course creators who want to move beyond the beta and set their sights set on six or seven-figure revenue goals with their online courses.

And new course creators who are serious about creating and launching successful and profitable courses and need the support and strategies to do so.

Whichever applies to you, a few things are for sure:

You are serious about your online course.

You are committed to big results and you want to take your course as far as it can go. You’d love it if your online course was the backbone of your successful business.

You aren’t dabbling in online courses or simply dipping your toe in to see if maybe this could work.

You KNOW this will work.

But you also know that what got you here won’t get you there.

And you probably suspect that what you do in between course launches is almost as important as what you do during course launches (yet you’re not sure what you might be missing).

(Does this sound like you?)

If you want to reach the next level — the one from your wildest dreams — you’d be a great fit for Launchpad.

But who is Launchpad wrong for?

Launchpad Is not a good fit for people who are approaching course creation as a hobby. If you’re just dabbling, Launchpad will be a waste of time and money for you.

To be clear, you do not need an established course, audience, or business to be right for Launchpad. However, you do need a serious level of commitment with serious goals in mind.

You also need the right mindset: having access to the kinds of strategies and support we offer in Launchpad is unprecedented with our programs, but it’s not a magic bullet. Simply joining won’t solve your problems. You will have to come in with a data-driven mindset, ready to do the work and of course, ready to ask for help when you need it.

If you’ve got that mindset, you’d be a great fit for Launchpad.

If any of that sounds like you, then you are more than ready for a curated coaching program like Launchpad.

If that’s you, then I want you to do yourself a favor and fill out an application today. Don’t deliberate for days or even weeks.

Allow yourself to explore what’s possible for you and your business (and your course!). We can help you reach the goals you’ve only dreamed about. Apply today!

I’m here to help you build, grow, and scale your business.
